ROYAL AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Welcome to the Royal Ambassador Program of the Connecticut Renaissance Faire. This parchment contains important information on the Ambassador Program, such as the purpose of the group, roles and responsibilities of a Royal Ambassador, and how to serve as an official Connecticut Renaissance Faire Royal Ambassador.
WHAT IS A ROYAL AMBASSADOR?
A Royal Ambassador is an official representative of the Connecticut Renaissance Faire, a front‐line volunteer who helps to get the word out about the show in various ways.
WHO CAN SERVE AS A ROYAL AMBASSADOR?
Anyone who has attended the Spring‐or‐Fall performances of the Connecticut Renaissance Faire can apply to become a Royal Ambassador.
WHEN DO ROYAL AMBASSADORS MEET?
Royal Ambassadors stay connected continuously through our invite‐only Facebook group. Ambassadors also attend ribbon cutting events, networking events with the local Chambers of Commerce, parades, and otherfunctions throughout the year.
WHERE ARE EVENTS LOCATED?
The location of events will vary based on which performance (spring or fall) you are a Royal Ambassador for. Most events will be at the local Chamber of Commerce or businesses local to the area.
WHY SHOULD I BE A ROYAL AMBASSADOR?
Serving as a Royal Ambassador to The Connecticut Renaissance Faire allows you to become more involved with the inner workings of the Faire and to better connect you with local businesses. This increased networking will help both you and the Faire to become more visible in the business community.
ROLE OF THE ROYAL AMBASSADOR
The purpose of the Royal Ambassador is to serve as an official representative of the Connecticut Renaissance Faire.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of a Royal Ambassador include participation in a variety of programs, projects, and activities,including:
· Promotion of the value of The Connecticut Renaissance Faire within the local community.
· Active recruitment of new Royal Ambassadors and retention of existing members.
· Attendance at local Chamber of Commerce functions to keep the Connecticut Renaissance Faire on the radar of local businesses.
· Contacting local businesses to solicit support of the Faire (hanging posters, distributing flyers, participation in our ticket reseller program, etc).
· Assistance in the promotion of The Connecticut Renaissance Faire and other promotional events.
· Creation and operation of cost‐free promotional events (book readings at local library, costumed characters at events, parades, etc).
· Staying in touch with other Royal Ambassadors by organizing picnics, lunches and get‐togethers to foster community and teamwork.
· Serving as a source of information regarding The Connecticut Renaissance Faire, its events, and general information.
· The responsibilities of the Royal Ambassador shall be carried out by:
· Staying well informed of Connecticut Renaissance Faire policies, procedures, events, and services.
· Establishing a personal relationship with other Royal Ambassadors through ongoing phone calls, written messages, visiting the Royal Ambassador Facebook Group frequently, and personal contact.
· Conducting good will phone calls and emails as well as keeping The Connecticut Renaissance Faire apprised of your efforts.
· Serving as a liaison between the Connecticut Renaissance Faire and local Chamber of Commerce and businesses.
ELIGIBILTY & MEMBERSHIP
All Royal Ambassadors must be active with the Connecticut Renaissance Faire and adhere to the following stipulations:
· Successful completion of a three (3) month candidacy period is required, with review by The Connecticut Renaissance Faire before full acceptance into the Royal Ambassador program.
· Term of Service shall be one (1) year. Upon completion, a new Royal Ambassador Commitment form must be submitted.
RECOGNITION
Serving as a Royal Ambassador provides you with a greater level of visibility in your local community. As a Royal Ambassador you will receive recognition in a variety of different ways:
· Listing on the Royal Ambassador page of the Faire website.
· Introduction in an article in the Connecticut Renaissance Faire e‐newsletter.
· Ability to meet Chamber of Commerce members and local business owners.
· Invitation to special get‐togethers for Royal Ambassadors held by the Connecticut Renaissance Faire.
· Opportunity to be recognized as Royal Ambassador of the Year. This is determined number of events you attend, create, run, etc.
· Official Connecticut Renaissance Faire name badge.
ENROLLMENT
If you are interested in serving as a Royal Ambassador for The Connecticut Renaissance Faire, please contact the Faire to request an application form. Once your application has been reviewed you will need to complete the required three (3) month candidacy period. Upon successful completion of this probationary period you will complete a Royal Ambassador Commitment form and be recognized as an official member of theConnecticut Renaissance Faire’s Royal Ambassadors group.
